Confirmed! Fabregas is leaving Barcelona

Gerard Pique was having a conversation with Spain coach about Cesc Fabregas, and even though they were covering their mouths, it turns out they were being recorded. Lucky for us we know what they were saying! Lol. Gerard Piqué has been caught on camera telling Vicente del Bosquethat Cesc Fàbregas's departure from Barcelona for 33 million is a "done deal", to which the Spain coach replied that Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu "just can't seem to catch a break". The conversation - which saw both Piqué and Del Bosque cover their mouths while they were speaking - was recorded by the Spanish public broadcaster ('Televisión Española') as the pair waited for a promotional event to get underway. "Someone needs to stand up for Cesc. He's told me it's a done deal. He's leaving now for 33 million, he told me", Piqué said. "The president just can't seem to catch a break. You're going to drive the poor guy crazy", Del Bosque responded.

Balotelli to Arsenal for £30 million! Say what?

Really? £30 million for a sulking pet like Balotelli? Arsene Wenger would never do that! Arsenal have been offered the chance to bring Mario Balotelli back to England. AC Milan are prepared to sell the 23-year-old to fund an overhaul of their squad and want around £30million. Balotelli has scored 30 goals in 54 games for Milan but the fallen Italian giants are strapped for cash and are struggling to finance even smaller deals such as Adel Taarabt’s £5m move from QPR. Milan have grown increasingly frustrated at Balotelli’s erratic behaviour, the kind that infuriated players and staff alike at Manchester City, with his mood swings evident during TV interviews and touchline strops. They are keen to offer him to clubs around Europe with Monaco the favourites. Manchester City have a buy-back option but are unlikely to take that up, yet other English clubs have been asked to consider bidding and Arsenal are among them. Arsene Wenger seems likely to pursue interest in QPR striker Loic Remy and head off interest from Tottenham, but is looking at other options too and has considered Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic, Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata, plus Rodrigo of Benfica.

Andy Murray defeated 30 year old spaniard, Fernando Verdasco, in straight sets to qualify for the quarter-finals. He is now set to play against french-man Gael Monfils. Rafael Nadal beat Dusan Lajovic in straight sets to set up quarter-final against David Ferrer in a repeat of 2013 French Open final Roland Garros female favourite Maria Sharapova fought back from a set down to beat Australian Stosur 3-6, 6-4 ,6-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals. Ladies and gentlemen, the french party has just started!

Eto'o: the return of the 'old man'

Samuel Eto'o has been taking digs at his manager at Chelsea for sometime now. Once again Samuel Eto'o is in the news.

Samuel Eto'o resurrected his 'old man' celebration after scoring for Cameroon against Germany on Sunday night as the two countries prepared for the World Cup.

The 33-year-old striker nipped in ahead of defender Mats Hummels to poke the ball past Germany goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller on the hour mark.

Eto'o, who was forced to rubbish claims he is nearing the end of his career after Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho questioned his age earlier in the season, raced towards the corner flag to celebrate.

The Miami Heat punched their ticket to the NBA Finals by defending their home floor and disposing of the Indiana Pacers quite easily in Game 6, 117-92. Many celebrities were in attendance for the big game. And among them: Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki. They, of course, rocked “The Finals” hats (pictured above). And they also celebrated and snapped a photo with Heat C Greg Oden—who hoisted the Eastern Conference Finals Trophy and played four-and-a-half minutes in the game. Wozniacki recently broke up with long-time boyfriend Rory McIlroy, who broke the news over the phoneearlier this week. So of course she was out enjoying the game to occupy her time after a crushing loss in the opening round of the French Open. And Williams, who is a minority owner of the Heat, recently endured a second-round loss in the French Open.

Following two remarkable successive promotions from the lower reaches of Spanish football, Eibar are currently too small to technically be allowed to play in La Liga next season as the league requires all Primera Division sides to have a minimum capital of €2 million. Eibar’s currently stands at €400,00 though they are planning a fund-raising campaign and shares sale to rectify the situation. Indeed, in an effort to reserve funds for little luxuries like improved player wages and new signings, Eibar decided not to shell out on fancy, brand new confetti to hurl about at their promotion party and instead opted to buy second-hand. Realising that Barcelona had bought lots of red/blue confetti(those little shine-shine things people throw up at weddings and trophy celebrations) in preparation for winning the Liga title on the last weekend of the season before losing out to Atletico Madrid, Eibar contacted the Catalan giants and struck a deal to buy all of their unwanted confetti. Barca were unable to keep hold of the confetti for future use as, as anyone with a working knowledge of confetti already knows, it tends to clump together if stored for too long.Confetti must be fresh. According to ABC.es, Eibar will now use Barca’s cast-off confetti at their promotion party on Saturday. How sweet! Finally, a La-Liga team i can support!
