Barcelona are trying to stop a controversial advert starring Cesc Fabregas from being aired.
The commercial, for Beats by Dre headphones, sees the former Arsenal star on Barcelona's team coach, heading to the Clasico.
As
Fabregas heads to the game, he sees Real Madrid fans in the streets,
chanting derogatory songs about Catalonia, waving flags, brandishing
flares and running along the streets being chased by police.
To block out the noise ahead of the
clash against Real Madrid, Fabregas puts on a pair of the headphones and
can finally ignore the chaos.
But Barcelona's president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, says that the club has asked for the advert not to be shown.
He said: 'We don't like the message it sends out, which is why we have asked for it to be withdrawn.'
The
advert, which lasts nearly two-and-a-half minutes, was due to be shown
for the first time in Spain at half-time in the Clasico on Sunday night.
It was screened in the UK on BT Sport during Chelsea's 6-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.
